Little Master to make IPL debut against Chennai

The wait is over and Sachin Tendulkar will play his first match in the IPL on Wednesday against the Chennai.

The Master Blaster himself revealed on Monday that he was now feeling no discomfort but strong and fit enough to play.

"My support staff - both the physio and the massio have really worked hard on me and it (the injury) is looking very good. I am positive of playing day after tomorrow," said Mumbai IPL team captain.

He also confirmed that he would be leading his side out on the Wankhede Stadium for his much awaited debut in the league.

"I would be captaining the side because Shaun (Pollock) was a make-shift captain but he has done a terrific job. The other senior players have also contributed really well in the team. I am sure there are plenty of things that we would like to implement and that we would do it on the field.

"Plenty of talking happens off the field but what really matters is what you do on the field and it (Chennai) will be a tough match for us. We will look at the positive things that we have been able to achieve in the last seven games and take that confidence forward," said the little master.

Tendulkar, who has missed the first seven matches in the tournament due to a groin injury, had been practising with the team during the last two practice sessions. And he is all set to open the batting with Sanath Jaysuriya.

Mumbai have won three out of their seven matches they have played so far and are placed in the bottom half of the team standings with seven more games to go.
