Controversial Hair Set To Return At Old Trafford: England vs New Zealand Test

Controversial Australian umpire Darrell Hair will officiate his first Test on Friday after being dumped by the ICC 20 months back for being involved in the forfeited Test at the Oval in August 2006.

Hair will stand with fellow Australian Simon Taufel at Old Trafford as England meet New Zealand in the second Test.

"I've been involved in an umpire mentoring scheme with the International Cricket Council, which has been very satisfying," Hair was quoted as saying to the UK Telegraph.

"Being a mentor means you learn a lot yourself. It teaches you how to handle and deal with other people and understand their needs," he added.

Hair's return has angered Pakistan, who believe that he should not have been reinstated in the first place by the ICC.
