No rift with SRK, says Ganguly
Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Sourav Ganguly has denied reports of a rift between him and team owner Shah Rukh Khan over team composition and tactical matters, and said he will clear the matter soon.
Ganguly rubbished media reports which had claimed that Shah Rukh was not happy with some of his decisions in crunch matches while he himself was unhappy for not having enough say in team composition.
"It's not true. I have seen the reports and will make a clarification soon," Ganguly said, refusing to be drawn further into the matter.
Earlier, the team management had also described the reports of the rift between cricket icon and matinee idol as "false and baseless".
A top team source insisted that Shah Rukh and Ganguly were in the best of relationships and said, "All these reports of a rift are false and baseless. We don't have any problem in the team.
"It is only that our performance had not been to what we had expected. Because we are losing, people are imagining things that we are having problems in running the team," the source added.
He said Shah Rukh himself would soon be issuing a statement in Mumbai to clarify the matter.
After their loss to Rajasthan Royals in Kolkata, Knight Riders are virtually out of reckoning for a semifinal berth save for a miracle. They play Delhi Dredevils
here on Thursday in their penultimate match.
