Cricket Australia: No Warne Comeback

Shane Warne will not make a comeback to international cricket according to Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland.

The surprise decision of spinner Stuart MacGill to retire at the end of the ongoing second Test match against West Indies in Antigua sparked speculation Warne might be lured out of retirement to again wear the baggy green of Australia.
However, Sutherland has quashed those rumours after speaking to Warne in Mumbai where he watched the 38-year-old leg-spinner lead the Rajasthan Royals to victory in the final of the inaugural Indian Premier League.
"I am in Mumbai and I let Shane know that Stuart was about to announce his retirement," Sutherland told the Sydney Morning Herald.
"Shane was very clear on the subject. He said that not only is he very happily retired, but also that [a comeback] is the furthest thing from his mind. So that would seem to be the end of that."
Warne played the last of his 145 Test matches 17 months ago as Australia concluded their 5-0 Ashes sweep of England in Sydney.
The Victorian finished his career as Test cricket's all-time leading wicket-taker with 708 scalps - a record which has since been surpassed by Sri Lanka spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Warne has two years left to run on his contract with the Rajasthan Royals.
