Dhoni tested negative for dope

India`s One-Day skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has cleared dope test conducted after the Chennai Super Kings` semi-final victory over Punjab King`s XI in the Indian Premier League at Mumbai on May 31.

According to informed sources, the urine sample of Dhoni, who led Super Kings in the Twenty20 tournament that concluded on June 1, was collected and tested by the WADA-affiliated lab in Sweden after the semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium last Saturday.

"The tests were negative," the sources said, adding that it was the reason for the Indian Test wicket-keeper missing the mandatory post-match media conference on that night.

IPL`s Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi and CEO Sundar Raman were not available for comments.

Players were picked at random for dope testing during the tournament as part of the rules and regulations introduced in the multi-million dollar event by the IPL authorities who conducted the event in conformity with the International Cricket Council`s rules and regulations.
