Oram unveiled his uneasiness in touring Pakistan

New Zealand all-rounder Jacob Oram unveiled his uneasiness with the idea of touring Pakistan late August this year just before the ICC Champion Trophy.

According to Oram, security remains a "massive issue" for players and everyone concerned and still he himself is unsure, "I'll really have to sit down with my wife and family and make decisions”, Oram told AAP.

Oram said security in Pakistan was one of the issues of discussion when New Zealand's Cricket Players' Association boss Heath Mills met with the team before last month's first Test at Lord's.

Earlier this week, New Zealand manager Lindsay Crocker admitted he was aware of "chatter" among the players although none had really decided to pull out of the tour. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has already kept the pull-out option open for the players, assuring that it would not affect their contract.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said it's neither worried nor bothered by New Zealand players' apprehensions about security in Pakistan during a series of one-day matches scheduled for August. “It is something between them and their board. If they don't send their best team they will lose out so we are not bothered," said senior board official Shafqat Naghmi.

"We don't know if or when they'll send their security delegation to Pakistan for inspection." Naghmi said. The board couldn't do anything about it if a team decided to pull out of the Champions Trophy despite getting a security clearance from the International Cricket Council and assurances of state level security arrangements by the host country.

New Zealand committed to play three one-dayers, first one in Multan on August 24 and remaining two in Faisalabad August 27 and 30.
