Pakistan facing India today in tri-series


India is playing today (Tuesday) their first match against Pakistan in the Tri-series here with the latter seeking to continue their winning spree.

The one-dayer will begin today at 3pm.

According to media reports, captain Shoaib Malik is expected to stay back and not play the one-dayer owing to the injury at his shoulder.

In his absence, Misbahul Haq will lead Pakistani squad.

Earlier, Pakistan routed Bangladesh by 70 runs in the tri-series opener last night to extend their unbeaten streak to 12 matches.

The inaugural match of the tri-nation series played day and night here. The match reduced to 40-overs-a-side as rain delayed the play.

Earlier Pakistan was all out at 233 runs total on Sunday in the inaugural match of the tri-nation series against hosts Bangladesh in Dhaka.

The rain drenched match delayed due to the wet weather and reduced later to 40 overs each.

Bangladesh won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first. Pakistan scored 233 runs in 39.3 overs and set 234 runs target for the hosts.

Opener Salman Butt scored 70 runs for Pakistan, while Mohammad Yousuf made 59 runs and Misbah-ul-Haq 39 runs.

Bangladesh bowlers Abdur Razzak and Alok Kapali captured three wickets each, while Mushrafe Murtaza took two wickets.
